•   The 2008 Statistics Forum Call for Papers (2008-02-26)
  　The 2008 International Forum on Statistics will be held June 21-22 at Renmin University of China in Beijing. The forum will bring together top researchers from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, America, Japan and around the world to exchange research results and address open issues in all aspects of statistics. The forum is also in memory of 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Professor Dai Shiguang, who has dedicated his life to statistics and statistical education.
•   Second Conference on Micro Evidence on Innovation and Development (2007-12-28)
  　The Center for Applied Statistics (CAS) at the Renmin University of China, in collaboration with the Maastricht Economic and social Research and training centre on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT), is announcing the Second Conference on Micro Evidence on Innovation and Development (MEIDE).
•   President of IAA Mr. Fred Rowley visited RUC (2007-10-18)
  　On October 17, Mr. Fred Rowley, president of IAA (Institute of Actuaries of Australia) gave a talk for the actuarial students of school of statistics on expanding opportunity for actuary.
•   Three People in Statistics School Attended the CAS international actuarial conference (2007-07-05)
  　Between June 17 and June 22, two sessions were held in Orlando, Florida, USA. Ding Peng, the deputy director of property insurance regulatory department actuarial division, China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC), Professor Xie Zhigang, from Shanghai Finance and Economics University, Lecturer Xiao Yugu, from Renmin University of China, Graduate student Yao Rui and Tao Qian from Renmin University of China attended the meeting and made a speech separately.
•   Institute of National Accounting, Renmin University of China was set up (2007-05-31)
  　Institute of National Accounting, Renmin University of China, as cooperation of National Bureau of Statistics of China was set up in June 30th, 2007. The institute will keep track of the latest international research of national accounting and make effort to improve the work of National Accounting of China.
•   Director Xie from Statistic Bureau Visited the School of Statistics (2007-04-28)
  　On April 25th, Xie Fuzhan, director of National Bureau of Statistics of China, visited the School of Statistics.After the meeting, Director Xie gave a lecture, “The Driving Forces and Prospect of China’s Economic Growth”.
•   Professor Guido Ferrari from Studium Florentinum Visited the School of Statistics (2007-03-09)
  　On March.7th, Professor Guido Ferrari from Studium Florentinum (SF), Italy, visited the School of Statistics and the Center of Economic and Social Statistics under our invitation. Professor Zhao Yanyun, director of the center, as well as Professor Wang Xiaojun, vice president of the school, showed their great happiness to meet the honored guest.
•   Call for Conference Papers: ACFTA--Econometric Modeling and Regional Development Issues (2006-12-26)
  　The conference is sponsored by School of Statistics of Central University of Finance and Economics, Center for Applied Statistics (CAS) of Renmin University of China (RUC), School of Statistics of RUC, Center for Strategic Studies of Victoria University of Australia and Department of Statistics of Capital University of Economics and Business, and will take place in Beijing on March 17th ~ 18th , 2007.
•   Professor Wang xiaojun visited Fu Jen Catholic University and National Chengchi University (2006-12-18)
  　By the invitation of Fu Jen Catholic University and National Chengchi University, Professor Wang xiaojun and 16 graduate students attended the seminar on applied statistics in the department of statistics and information Science, Fu Jen Catholic University and the department of statistics, National Chengchi University during December 9 to 17, 2006. 9 students made the presentation on the seminar.
•   ASA President Bock visited RUC (2006-12-08)
  　On December 6, Mary Ellen Bock, the president of American Statistical Association (ASA), visited Renmin University of China. Jin Yongjin, the Dean of Statistics School, met Mrs. Bock. The Attendants to the meeting included Wu Xizhi, the Director of Data Mining Center, Wang Xiaojun, the director of Risk Management and Actuarial Science Center, Xue Wei, the associate professor of the School, and the director of R&D Center of SPSS China (Xi’an).
