School of Statistics

On December 6, Mary Ellen Bock, the president of American Statistical Association (ASA), visited Renmin University of China.

Jin Yongjin, the Dean of Statistics School, met Mrs. Bock. The Attendants to the meeting included Wu Xizhi, the Director of Data Mining Center, Wang Xiaojun, the director of Risk Management and Actuarial Science Center, Xue Wei, the associate professor of the School, and the director of R&D Center of SPSS China (Xi’an). Dean Jin and Mrs. Bock, also head of department of Statistics in Purdue University, exchanged views on cooperation about teaching and research.

After the meeting, Mrs. Bock visited CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) System of our school, and discussed the challenges to the telephone survey in the era of mobile. Meanwhile, Mrs. Bock gave high remarks on the advanced research facilities of our school.
