A Study on Allocation of Regional Education Resources of Beijing

【Abstract】

Beijing, as the political and cultural centre of China, the education development of which draws great attention. The developing level as well as coordination degree of regional education not only reflects the status of the district but expresses the sustainable development of the society. Particularly, the regional education balanced development and the education modernization are listed the major contents in Beijing municipal education science and the 12th five-year plan. To investigate the regional education development of Beijing and promote a rational proposal for further development, this paper mainly studies the elementary education of 16 districts in Beijing based on multivariate statistical techniques. First Chernoff face is applied to describe multidimensional data. Second factor analysis is adopted to make evaluations on different regions. Finally cluster analysis is used to divide the 16 regions into 3 categories, based on which a map is provided to give a direct illustration of geographical distribution. On the whole, the distribution of educational resources doesn’t emphasize thedevelopment district, which reflects the guidelines of Beijing province to a balanced development of regional education.
