Lecturer Jeffrey Chu from the School of Statistics at RUC Elected to Elsevier's 2024 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" List
Recently, Elsevier officially released its 2024 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list. Jeffrey Chu from the Department of Mathematical Statistics, School of Statistics at Renmin University of China (RUC), has been selected for his innovative methodologies in mathematical statistics and their applications in fields such as finance and economics.
The "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list is based on Scopus, the world's leading citation database. It systematically analyzes research outputs authored by Chinese scholars as first or corresponding authors, identifying top-tier scholars with the most international influence across disciplines. The 2024 list includes 6,388 outstanding researchers from 547 universities, research institutions, and enterprises. It covers 10 major disciplines and 83 first-level disciplines under the Ministry of Education, and is highly recognized by both academia and media for its authority.
About the Scholar
Jeffrey Chu is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematical Statistics, School of Statistics at RUC, and earned his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Manchester, UK. He has previously held postdoctoral and lecturer positions at the University of Manchester and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain. His research focuses on statistical distribution theory and the application of statistics in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. His papers have been published in prestigious international journals such as International Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Computational Statistics & Data Analysis, and Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications. He has led multiple national and Beijing municipal natural science foundation projects.
