On March 6, the seminar "Seminar on the Frontiers of Statistics in the AI Era" was organized in Room 1016 of Mingde Main Building. Vice Deans Lü Xiaoling and Yin Jianxin from the School of Statistics at Renmin University of China (RUC), along with Professors Huang Hui and Wang Xing, Associate Professors Fan Xinyan, Guan Guohui, Wang Chunyan, Wang Feifei, and Zhang Yuan, and Lecturers Han Yuzhe, Li Jie, Mei Hao, and Wang Xinyue participated in the discussion. The event was chaired by Dean Li Yang of the School of Statistics at RUC.

In the realm of theoretical research, faculty members discussed topics such as reliability analysis of large language models, AI-generated text detection technologies, AI-integrated dynamic models, and privacy-preserving mechanisms for artificial intelligence. Focusing on the long-term development of the statistics discipline, they emphasized the need for deep integration across multiple fields and advocated enhancing the capacity to translate theoretical achievements into practical applications.

In the domain of applied practice, participants explored the application of AI in data processing, interdisciplinary research, pedagogical practices, and enterprise services, as well as its promising prospects in healthcare services. They highlighted the strengths of the statistics discipline in the AI era and called for closer alignment between technological advancements and real-world scenarios to drive intelligent innovation in related industries.

In his concluding remarks, Dean Li Yang summarized the discussion around three key points: "proactive embrace of the times," "courage for self-revolution," and "steadfast discipline confidence." He encouraged attendees to actively seize opportunities presented by the AI era, innovate research paradigms with a spirit of integrity and creativity, and deeply leverage the unique strengths of statistics in both theoretical foundations and practical applications. Together, he urged the community to advance collaboratively and achieve new breakthroughs in disciplinary development within the AI-driven landscape.
