On the morning of February 27, Professor Jonathan Winterton from the Business School at the University of Leeds visited the School of Statistics at Renmin University of China (RUC) for an academic exchange. The visit aimed to promote bilateral academic collaboration and lay a solid foundation for future cooperative development.

Vice Dean Lü Xiaoling of the School of Statistics, faculty member Jeffrey Chu, and International Affairs Secretary Li Chao warmly received Professor Jonathan. During the discussion, both sides engaged in in-depth conversations on multiple key topics. A focal point was the detailed exchange regarding the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Leeds Business School. Both institutions expressed hope that the MoU would establish a long-term, stable framework for cooperation, fostering deeper collaboration in academic research and talent cultivation.

The two sides also actively explored potential areas of cooperation, including joint faculty research projects, collaborative doctoral programs, and undergraduate student exchange initiatives. This visit achieved significant results, with both institutions expressing strong intentions to strengthen their partnership.
