School of Statistics, Renmin University of China Signs Cooperation Agreement with School of Statistics and Data Science, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics
To respond to the CPC Central Committee's strategic call for educational support in Xinjiang and implement the university's relevant work arrangements, the School of Statistics at Renmin University of China (RUC) signed a cooperation agreement with the School of Statistics and Data Science at Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics on March 6.
Representatives from both institutions included Dean Li Yang, Deputy Party Secretary Wang Zhidan, Vice Dean Lü Xiaoling, and Associate Professor Gao Guangyuan from the School of Statistics, Renmin University of China (RUC), as well as Dean He Jian, Vice Dean Chen Hailong, and Deputy Party Secretary Mao Wanting from the School of Statistics and Data Science, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. The signing ceremony was chaired by Vice Dean Lü Xiaoling of RUC.
Li Yang warmly welcomed the delegation from Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. He emphasized that RUC and Xinjiang University have a long-standing history of collaboration. In the new era, he expressed hopes for deeper cooperation between the two schools to jointly advance the innovative development of the statistics discipline.
Subsequently, Dean Li Yang of RUC and Dean He Jian of Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics signed the cooperation agreement in the presence of representatives from both institutions.
He Jian introduced the faculty strength and disciplinary development of the School of Statistics and Data Science at Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. He sincerely thanked the leadership and faculty of RUC for their support and expressed hopes for further deepening cooperation to strengthen the statistics academic program construction at Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics and accelerate the development of border region statistics disciplines.
Chen Hailong shared updates on the scientific research work of Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. He proposed enhanced communication and collaboration between faculty and students of both institutions to jointly drive innovation in the statistics discipline.
Mao Wanting provided an overview of the Party branch work at Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. She suggested further inter-institutional Party-building exchanges to promote mutual progress in Party work.
Li Yang introduced the disciplinary development of RUC's School of Statistics. The statistics discipline at RUC, established in 1950, has evolved through generations of efforts, consistently leveraging its strengths to align with national development trends and prioritize self-reliant talent cultivation. He proposed integrating border region elements into future collaborations to create a new growth pole for statistics disciplines with border characteristics. Li Yang reiterated RUC's commitment to working closely with Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics to fulfill their shared mission.
Wang Zhidan introduced the Party-building and student work of RUC's School of Statistics. She expressed hopes for closer collaboration in areas such as joint Party activities, student mutual support, and social practice initiatives.
Lü Xiaoling shared updates on RUC's research work. She proposed strengthening scientific collaboration, exchanging ideas, and seizing opportunities in the AI era. She emphasized that future cooperation would further integrate industry-academia-research synergies, elevating the research capabilities of both institutions.
